Entry Requirements

  • Learners who have demonstrated some ability and possess Qualifications at Level 3, for example ‘A’ Levels or vocational awards
  • Basic computer skills
  • No prior web development experience is required

Learning Outcomes

  • Master Core Web Technologies: Understand the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build static web pages and interactive user interfaces.
  • Create Responsive and Accessible Websites: Design websites that adapt to various screen sizes and devices while ensuring accessibility for all users.
  • Implement Back-End Functionality: Develop server-side applications, work with databases, and create dynamic web content using server-side programming languages.
  • Build Full-Stack Applications: Integrate front-end and back-end technologies to create full-stack web applications with seamless communication between components.
  • Utilize Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, including Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), Single Page Applications (SPAs), and other emerging technologies.
  • Ensure Web Security: Implement security best practices to protect web applications from common vulnerabilities, such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS).
  • Optimize Performance: Apply techniques to optimize web application performance, including efficient code practices and asset optimization.
  • Work with Web Development Frameworks: Gain hands-on experience with popular web development frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Collaborate and Manage Projects: Collaborate effectively in a team using Agile development methodologies, project management tools, and version control systems like Git.
  • Capstone Project: Successfully complete a real-world web development project that demonstrates the ability to apply acquired knowledge and skills in a practical context.
  • Internship Experience: Gain practical work experience through an internship or work placement, applying web development skills in a professional setting.
  • Final Assessment and Certification: Pass the final assessments and receive a diploma in web development with industry trends, recognized by the program provider.
